Dear Lodging Member,

Many of you told us how pleased you were with the success of the spring “Festival of Blossoms,” and the fall “Kingdom So Delicious” campaigns.  We continue to look for ways to re-invite, remind and incentify our customers and potential visitors.  We are building the website for the “Nature of Romance” packages..  This is your opportunity to promote your packages on DoorCounty.com. New logos are being designed for all our seasonal promotions.  Watch for our new look!

We are looking to feature special romance packages.  Your packages should include, at a minimum, lodging for one or two nights (we suggest one of each), a meal for two (breakfast, lunch or dinner), and an amenity. It would fit nicely with the campaign if the amenity was couple related (a bottle of wine, flowers, chocolates). Feel free to package more than one thing together, too.  The above guidelines are package minimums, and if you’d like to include several activities along with lodging and a meal in your package, even better. (Visit DoorCounty.com for ideas!)   You can also offer more than one package. 

A sample package is illustrated below.

Packages should be offered from December 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010.  However, if you are open only part of this time you can participate by specifying your winter dates.

To participate, please submit your package details no later than November 6, 2009. 

Descriptions are allowed with a maximum of 100 words, not including your phone number, email and web site for each package.  You should also submit a digital photo and your logo that will be included with your package or indicate that you want the same photo as was used in the Festival of Blossoms or Kingdom So Delicious campaigns.  Photos and logos should be e-mailed to Michelle Bailey at: michelle@doorcounty.com.  

We are continuing exciting value added items for you in 2010. 

• We are waiving the $75 participation fee. 

• Each package must include at least one $25 Door County Gift Certificate but your cost will only be $15.00 for each certificate you issue.  (Remember to work this cost into the price of your packages)  You will initially be invoiced for three (3) gift certificates ($45), which will be mailed to you upon our receipt of payment.  Additional promotional certificates can be ordered by contacting Michelle Bailey at: 920-243-1127 or michelle@doorcounty.com.  

• Each participating lodging member is asked to donate one Gift Certificate (per seasonal promotion) that we can use to promote your business and fuel additional promotions throughout the year.  (Internet newsletters, radio & newspaper ads)   The certificate should be for two nights, redeemable within a year and with as few restrictions as possible (based on availability).  Your business will be the featured property for that promotion. 

• We have developed a special Winter Shopping and Activity Guide that includes a calendar of events to promote our winter season and engage our guests.

We'd like to help you invite your previous guests back to Door County this year by promoting all of our four seasonal packages to any of your customers who have visited Door County within the past two years and have given you permission to use their e-mail address.  
 
You must submit at least one lodging package per promotion to participate in this promotion.

Once you have submitted your package(s), this is how our e-Postcard promotion will work:

Each seasonal promotion will have its own specially designed ePostcard – Nature of Romance, Festival of Blossoms, Kingdom So Delicious and Holidays and Holly Nights.

Early January: An inviting e-mail will be sent to each addressee to verify their permission to send additional information about the four seasonal promotions in Door County.  (This way we only have to ask the customer to opt-in once!)
 
Mid-January: A "Nature of Romance" themed e-Postcard will be sent to let them know that businesses are open, there are many things to do in the winter, and that Nature of Romance packages are available.   
 
Late-January: The second e-Postcard will be personalized to look like it is coming from YOUR property; with YOUR property's photo and a link to YOUR website with an invitation to visit during Nature of Romance.

 

April-August and October the above will be repeated for each seasonal promotion.  We understand if you cannot participate in all four seasonal packages, due to being closed in winter, and will work with your database individually to get opt-in permission if possible.  However, for those that can commit to the four promotions now, we will save money and irritation on the part of customers asking for opt-in one time only.

We'll do all the work and your data will remain confidential:  Within the next month, you should expect a call from Baylakes Information Systems to get your permission to work with your data on your behalf.  Rest assured your data WILL NOT be shared.   We have asked Baylakes Information Systems to act as a third party coordinator who will prepare the addresses for eBrains, Inc. to deploy the e-Postcards on your behalf.   The Door County Visitor Bureau will not have access to these addresses.
